2002, 7 to 9 pm. The class is open to all board members and if you
have never taken one
of these orientation classes, please consider attending. it really
helps understand how
Neighborhood Associations operate and fit into the structure of
city management. You also
get really helpful hints on facilitating neighborhood meetings,
They cover the basics of land
use, transportation and crime prevention services, open meeting
laws, and ground rules for
taking notes and leading a discussion. The class meets at the Multnomah
Center, room, 34,

or swni123@spiritone.com, or stop by the office. There is no fee
but they need to know
how many training packets to prepare.
Is anyone interested/willing to monitor the
Noise Review Board? They meet monthly and
consider all kinds of noisy agenda items from regulating leaf blowers
to granting variances
for special parties (Oaks Park) and projects. Call City of Portland
office of Planning and
Development Review, 503/823-7300 for their Agenda. They meet monthly
in room

from our
neighborhood monitoring this board and keeping us informed on their
activities. Let Jan
Kelly janmkelly@earthlink.net
know if you are willing or interested.
